Fees & payouts
Every number, in one place.
Selling fee
5% of each sale. No listing fees, no subscription, no placements to buy. If you don't sell, you don't pay.
What buyers pay
The lot price, shipping when it isn't included in the price, and card processing — each shown as its own line at checkout before payment.
Shipping labels
Shipping is arranged through PaperCrane with USPS, UPS, or FedEx, and the label charge is deducted from the seller's payout. If the carrier reweighs a package heavier than the label declared, the postage difference plus a correction fee is billed to the seller.
When sellers get paid
A payout is the sale total less the 5% fee and the label cost. It releases the moment the carrier first scans the package — not on delivery, not on a weekly schedule. Stripe then deposits it to your bank on its standard payout cadence. Stripe verifies identity and holds banking details; PaperCrane never sees or stores either.
The backup card
Sellers keep a card on file before payouts release. It covers the rare shortfall a payout can't — a postage correction, a refund after payout. It is never charged silently for anything else.
If an order never ships
No carrier scan within 14 days: the buyer is automatically refunded in full. Sellers are never paid for unshipped orders.
Disputes and holds
A dispute on an order can hold that payout until a human reviews the evidence, usually within 2 days. A dispute being filed doesn't mark a seller at fault — only a case found against them after review does. Money never moves on an accusation alone. Coverage details: Buyer Protection.
Crane Credit
Buyers earn 0.5% back on completed purchases, 2% on orders with a wholesaler they brought to PaperCrane. Credit spends like money at checkout; sellers are paid in full when a buyer uses it.
